CHRISTIAN POETS MEMBERSHIP TERMS & COMMUNITY GUIDELINES


1. Purpose of Membership

The Home of Christian Poets exists to encourage, support, develop and connect Christian poets in a respectful, faith-centred and creative environment.

By becoming a member, all members agree to uphold the values, mission and integrity of the organisation.


2. Membership Expectations

Members are expected to:

  • Treat other members, leaders, guests and partners with respect and courtesy.
  • Conduct themselves in a manner consistent with Christian values.
  • Engage positively within the community, both publicly and privately.
  • Refrain from bullying, harassment, intimidation, discrimination, abusive language or disruptive behaviour.
  • Avoid conduct that could bring the organisation into disrepute.
  • Respect confidentiality where appropriate.
  • Provide truthful and accurate information when applying for membership or opportunities.
  • Respect intellectual property and not plagiarise the work of others.
  • Use online platforms, events and discussion spaces responsibly and respectfully.


3. Faith & Community Ethos

The Home of Christian Poets is a Christian-led organisation and operates according to its stated vision, values and ethos.

While members may hold different denominational perspectives, all members agree to engage respectfully and not seek to create division, hostility or disruption within the community.


4. Leadership & Organisational Decisions

The leadership team reserves the right to make decisions regarding:

  • membership approval
  • membership tier placement
  • participation in events or programmes
  • awards, features or opportunities
  • moderation of online spaces
  • disciplinary matters

All decisions made by leadership are intended to protect the integrity, wellbeing and mission of the organisation.


5. Suspension or Termination of Membership

The Home of Christian Poets reserves the right to suspend, restrict or terminate membership where a member:

  • breaches these terms or community guidelines
  • engages in harmful, abusive or disruptive behaviour
  • repeatedly creates conflict or division
  • damages the reputation or work of the organisation
  • behaves dishonestly or fraudulently
  • engages in harassment, bullying or intimidation
  • misuses organisational platforms, events or resources
  • acts in a manner deemed unsafe or inappropriate by leadership

Where appropriate, concerns may first be addressed through discussion or written warning. However, leadership reserves the right to immediately suspend or terminate membership where necessary.

Membership termination decisions are final.


6. Online Conduct & Social Media

Members must not:

  • publicly defame or deliberately misrepresent the organisation
  • harass members online
  • misuse private member information
  • impersonate the organisation or its representatives
  • create unnecessary hostility on social media connected to the organisation

Constructive feedback is welcomed when communicated respectfully and appropriately.


7. Intellectual Property

Members retain ownership of their own creative work.

However, by submitting work for publication, performance, promotion or featured opportunities, members grant The Home of Christian Poets permission to share or promote that work in connection with organisational activities unless otherwise agreed in writing.


8. Amendments

The Home of Christian Poets reserves the right to update or amend these terms and guidelines at any time in order to protect the organisation and its members.

Members will be notified of significant changes where appropriate.


9. Agreement

By joining The Home of Christian Poets, members confirm that they have read, understood and agreed to these Membership Terms and Community Guidelines.
