A creepy caterpillar crawls into a chrysalis, there to droop and die

Only God can cause metamorphosis to a beautiful butterfly!

Wedged in the womb, a seemingly simple cell; to the naked eye, invisible

Only God can transform it into a functioning, fully-grown, intricate individual

The shrill sound of a soprano lad blows high to the sky zone

Only God can change the post-puberty pitch into a baritone

The waters of a lake, they ebb and flow, then rise and sink

Only God can freeze the fluid, now transformed into an ice rink

An angry, arrogant abuser who, instead of a heart has an empty hole!

Only God can change him into a contrite, compassionate, caring, whole, loving soul!

A plain, small seed, unembellished, unadorned, plant it in the soil and leave it be

Only God can cause it to manifest into a marvellous, magnificent, majestic oak tree!

Two aggrieved, antagonistic, stubborn, sad souls; bent on divorce!

Only God can transform them into a released, renewed, mirthful married couple;

Now on a new course!

Death and decay, a buried body rotting away; deceased and dehumanised!

Only God can change it into a body revived, revitalized, glorified and immortalized!

And only God, through the redemptive power of Jesus Christ

Can take a broken, abused, rejected, resentful, self-conscious, anxious, ashamed, fear-filled, timid, feeling inferior, insecure person like me

Then set her free, and transform her into what I now see!

He can do what veers from the norm

Only God can truly transform!
